Product information "SL Carabiner 'Ergotec'"

+ ergonomically designed
+ self-closing
+ extra large snap fastener opening

The carabiner is ergonomically designed so that it can always be used easily, quickly and safely in all possible grip positions, even when wearing gloves. Thanks to the extra large opening, it can be attached and removed quickly and even more safely without the risk of pinching your fingers between the wire rope and the gate. In addition, the automatic carabiner lock prevents accidental opening. It is ideal for all self-belaying on via ferratas and in rescue operations.

Not all possible misuses have been presented. “Class B” carabiners were developed for use in alpine and sport climbing. Each Salewa carabiner is individually tested and complies with the EN 12275:2013 standard. Always ensure that the carabiner is correctly integrated into the safety system and that correct closing is not hindered by foreign objects (e.g. small stones or similar). Salewa brand express slings comply with the EN 566:2017 standard and are designed as part of an express set for climbing. Please always ensure that the upper carabiner of an express set can move freely, while the lower carabiner is held in position by an anti-twist device in the express sling. Attach express sets completely and take the rest of the route into account. The same applies to subsequently attaching the safety rope. C SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS All components must be carefully checked before using the product. FIGURE C It cannot be ruled out that the lock on carabiners may open during use due to unfavourable rope friction or impact with rocks. Choose securing points where this is avoided. Frayed fibres on the slings are a sure sign that the product must be discarded. The information provided (instructions for use) should be kept with the equipment. The product may only be used by suitably trained and/or otherwise competent persons, or when the user is under the direct supervision of a suitable person. Make sure that compatible and certified components are used. We only recommend the use of mountaineering equipment that complies with the relevant standards, e.g. EN 892 for ropes, EN 566 for quickdraws and EN 12275 for carabiners. Knots in the sling reduce the breaking load. WARNING If there is the slightest doubt about the safety of the product, it must be replaced immediately. A product that has been stressed in a fall must be withdrawn from use. ·Any modification to the product can have serious consequences for safety. Warning: Dyneema has a low melting point of 140°C
